The research groups Cyber3Lab and Vital cities join forces and jointly develop YET
YET is an application that emerged from a co-creation process with young people to involve this target group more in the design of public spaces. The app allows young people to get creative and transform a public space into a dream location by creating a digital collage. YET is the tool that creates the link between the refreshing input of young people on the one hand and the policy makers of public spaces on the other. This gives them a direct voice in shaping their own living environment.

Communicity funding
CommuniCity is a citizen-oriented European project with three rounds of open calls. During all rounds of the open calls, CommuniCity works together with technology providers, organisations, cities and their residents to develop innovative technological solutions for the digital, urban and social challenges that marginalised communities face.
At the end of last year, Cyber3Lab and Vital Cities registered for the CommuniCity 3rd call for the challenge of the city of Bruges. The assignment was as follows: “The city of Bruges is looking for technological solutions to easily reach and involve young people in participation projects in public spaces.”
With this research budget, we aimed to integrate Generative AI into YET. This way, users can not only get started with the library of photo elements, but can also directly adjust the image of the public space with AI. The official release of YET is planned for June 2025, but last week we were already able to give a sneak peak to the partners involved.
